Blog-Off 2010: Round One Results

Wow!  I am completely blown away by the voting turn-out!  Looks like we're well on our way to an exciting contest.  Sadly, though, we have to say good-bye to our bottom two this week, and the voters have spoken.  So, with heavy hearts and deep sorrow (you're gonna have to fake it, Candice, but you're good at that from what I hear) we bid a fond farewell to:

The Surly Writer: Michelle is truly a great writer, and I'm sure she'll rebound from her departure in much the same way that Jennifer Hudson went on to great fame after being ousted from American Idol.  She may be leaving the competition, but hers is a blog you should visit often.

Welcome to My Life: Becky's is one of the more recent blogs I discovered, and she's very funny.  Keep visiting her site, she deserves your attention!

(cue exit music . . . "So you had a bad day . . .")

Congratulations to the bloggers who advanced to the next round.  Round Two submissions will be posted on the contestants' blogs Sunday, January 10th by 9:00 AM Pacific (that's noon Eastern, and sometime around 10:23 in Texas).  Stop by Knucklehead! sometime after that for links, details, and the sidebar ballot.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled Knucklehead.

Yay, round 1. This is like a reality TV show for bloggers. Well sort of. Though I dislike the actual ones they show on TV, I'm liking this 'one' very much!

Next week, cue drama! Lol. But seriously, good stuff. And also, now I have that dang song stuck in my head. I'm here whistling it...

Okay, The Surly Writer's post was hilarious, people! You will be missed, Michelle (only not really, 'cause I'm totally following your blog now).

Can't wait to see next week's posts!

I'm following all those blogs now. I thought everyone did an excellent job! Can you just give a feel good trophy to everyone?

I'm not even participating. I'm too afraid of Candice.

Yay! The bookies won't break my legs now. Sweet! I had bets down... er... yeah. Congrats to those who made it. I'm off to count my money, um, I mean to count my tears of sorrow for not making the next round.

With the American Idol comparisons here, it would have been fun to have a few episodes of the blog equivalent of the bad singers on Idol.

I guess I'm posting that out of self-interest, as I am VERY good at blogging off-key, out of tune, and occasionally forgetting the words, then childishly stomping out of the room uttering curse words about the rude Brit as though it's all HIS fault.

But, seriously, this is a good meme for your blog. Enjoyed it.

I'm still experiencing shock that I somehow survived Round 1.

We need a tagline like Survivor:

"Outlast. Outblog. Out..er...house."

I think I agree with Jeff. As the William Hung of bloggers, it is sometimes better to watch and learn. This is a fabulous idea in any case. Maybe I'll jump in next time around, if I can muster up the courage to stand in front of Simon....EFH

I'm a first time visitor to your site arriving from Cleveland, OH.

I follow Reforming Geek's blog and decided to visit after she suggested it.

And I also wanted to get my comments started. Thanks. I look forward to visiting back.
